Cabin Fever is a fairly light-hearted romance, however there is a touch of reality. Mark is a working Game Warden in Denali National Park. There are moments in this novel where, during his work, he has to fire guns, as does Amelie; just a bit of action to break up the monotony of being in a cabin in Nowhere.
There is also the ever-present Mother Issues on both sides. Mark, because of who he is as a person, has his own issues with his mother and brother. Amelie does as well, though her mother is significantly more present in the story as Cabin Fever is only in Amelie's perspective. Amelie's mother is the type to pick on her appearance and weight. This warning is not exhaustive, please take breaks if you need to!
